Maud's Cloudburst

from $445.00

Ningaloo Coast, Western Australia, 2006

This image was taken at dusk out at Maud’s Landing as a cyclone was building off the northwest coast before making landfall the following day.

We were staying in Coral Bay at the time and ended up enduring a fairly torrid windy night in our robust little camper before quickly packing up the following morning and hitting the road south as the wind and rain was getting pretty intense behind us.

I love the ominous swirling cyclonic clouds in this image as there is a real sense of what was to follow. The contrasting, dynamic wash of wave action in the foreground adds to the symmetry, movement and drama.

Artwork Notes:

Larger scale, “Ready to Hang “Stretched Canvas complimented by the optional darker Jarrah Wood Frame is a great moody combination for this artwork.

  • Larger or custom artwork size are available on request.

  • Free insured shipping anywhere is Australia.

  • For international shipping or any other purchase queries please make contact via purchases@paulparin.com

Paul Parin would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the Western Australian lands (Boodja) on which I live and travel upon to

produce my work and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community.

I pay respect to Aboriginal Elders past and present and appreciate their deep cultural connection to and upon the land on which we stand…
