Hakea On Round Hill

from $445.00

Newman, Western Australia, 2006

It had been a hot, hot day in the Pilbara town of Newman when the promise of a sunset storm started appearing mid afternoon.

Late in the day myself and a group of friends headed south from the town to Round Hill which we traversed in up to the rounded top in our trusty Landcruiser.

As we enjoyed a couple of late afternoon drinks it looked like it was going to be just too gloomy for any successful image opportunities. Then surprisingly as often happens, right on sunset some lovely warm sunset light escaped through the cloud on horizon to bathe the hilltop in beautiful golden light and provide great contrast against the “purpley” dark grey skies behind.

I love the way the light brushes across the top of the Hakea Tree in the foreground and a wedge of more intense light illuminates the Snappy Gums in the background…

Artwork Notes:

Hakea On Round Hill makes for a beautiful artwork printed on any medium or any size.

  • Larger or custom artwork size are available on request.

Paul Parin would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the Western Australian lands (Boodja) on which I live and travel upon to

produce my work and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community.

I pay respect to Aboriginal Elders past and present and appreciate their deep cultural connection to and upon the land on which we stand…
